Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) by Arcade Fire
This song is so different to anything else I’ve heard from Arcade Fire. But this is just as good, if not better. I mean, there are synths here. Actual glittery synths.They really make it work as well.
All the talk of teenage kicks and artisitc oppression don’t seem like much when you look at all the other things Arcade Fire make music about, but the lighter themes on this song seem to have given them room to flesh themselves out, instrument-wise. The four on the floor drums seem out of place for a bit but like, I just went along with it and everything sits wonderfully well.
Teenage anthem? Ehh yeah!
